Our Need
A permanent location is necessary to tell the story of Canada's role in saving the plains bison from extinction. There is also a need for an archive in east-central Alberta to house and protect valuable artifacts and materials, photographs, and oral histories relating to Buffalo National Park and other aspects of the region's history.
I believe a certain longing has been in the hearts and minds of the people of this district for some time. It is the longing to tell our story of saving the plains bison from the brink of extinction, and have it heard and preserved for future generations. By building the Buffalo Park Centre, these longings will be satisfied and the story will be placed firmly in the Canadian historic mosaic where it belongs. Together, we can achieve this "Opportunity of a Lifetime."
