Event June 14th, 2012 - Go to "Show your Support" page for more information
The Buffalo National Park Interpretive Centre Foundation was incorporated in 2001 to develop an interpretive centre to preserve the important national wildlife story of Buffalo National Park as well as other regional histories.
In January 2011, the Foundation announced the purchase of the historic Wainwright Hotel for the future site of the Buffalo Park Centre and Regional Archives and is raising funds to restore this Provincially designated site. The Centre will include a permanent exhibit area, an arts and heritage gallery and a regional archives.

As the MLA for Battle River-Wainwright, I have been supporting this rural initiative to build and protect our unique Alberta history with the creation of the Buffalo Park Interpretive Centre and Regional Archives from the very beginning. This is our opportunity to work together to ensure our archives and our rural heritage is preserved. This is an opportunity for east-central Alberta to 'connect' with other important heritage and cultural sites across the province and is an exciting and unique opportunity for Wainwright & District to become part of the cultural fabric of Canada.
Doug Griffiths, MLA for Battle River-Wainwright
